Hi Katherine,
Great site. Wanted to wish you luck. I was looking for a schedule of our upcoming races or appearances and didn’t see anything (might have just missed it). I’m not too far from Indy (in Ohio) and would love to see you race sometime, or say hello at a meet and greet or something.
Best of luck,
Michael

Its a big shame to see your exit from the DTM series and i have enjoyed watching all of your races at my local track which is Brands Hatch.
On the other hand its great to see you go back to your open wheel roots and i wish you all the best.
One day i will save up the money to come and watch you race in America . . . Hopefully . . .
Thanx and good luck,

I was at Road America the day you crashed. I always set up my pop up canopy between corners 6 and 7. I listen to my scanner with headsets and knew what had happened and that you were involved. I always record the race at home if it is being televised, so I was able to see how bad it was later that night. I have been going to Road America since it opened. This place was my “backyard” when I was a kid. My Dad was the Medical Director there from 1963 to 1986. The “kink” was always notorious for major disasters. I was so glad you were okay. Wish I could see you race here again. I would enjoy hearing from you… Love, David

Hi Katherine,
for me as a German Fan it´s really a big shame not to see you driving in the DTM this year. I hoped so deeply, that you could exhibit your talent in 2011 season. But that´s the way it is. I wish you all the very best for your future and lots of racewins. Go Katherine!

Hello, KL. What can you reveal about you getting some IndyCar seat time later this season on Road/Street courses? The buzz is out there. You can even blame IMS radio if you want. I doubt this deal will come together soon enough for my home town race, but any deal you can swing sounds great to me. Please fill us in as soon as you are possible.

A First Grader at the Williams Elementary School in San Jose, California, has just had his car design selected into the finals of over 20,000 plus designs. If his is chosen the school kids will get a chance to meet NASCAR driver Kyle Busch.
We are asking you to vote for his design at the following link:
http://www.sponsafier.com/#/gallery/view/35905
If the screen is grey, be patient it will load, the site has been slow. They do not ask for any personal information and you will not get any follow up emails by voting.
This is the only non charity car in the finals and the only one designed by a young boy. We do not have the resources of the charities, but we have like you, a strong passion and love for cars. What better than sharing this with a school full of boys and girls, and making many dreams come true by meeting Kyle Busch.
Please see the article by the Almaden Times and if you can, support the kids at Williams by voting, posting it on your site and passing on the story to your members( the site only allows one vote per day through th 19th).
A write up in the Almaden Times about AJ’s Story:

We appreciate any help you can give.

Katherine,
I am a fan of yours and I participate in an online auto racing forum. It won’t surprise you that your name has been coming up lately with the news that you hope to have a 2012 ride (that would be so great), and I had a few questions I wonder if you wouldn’t mind answering. I hope you don’t mind my mentioning that there are some racing fans (I am not one) and pundits who look at your raw statistics and try to say you had your audition in Champ Cars and didn’t make the grade, so you don’t deserve a chance again in Indy Cars. Of course, anyone who looks beyond the numbers at your two seasons knows that’s complete bollocks. In addition to six top tens (Vegas 07 was simply brilliant!), two late retirements in the top ten (Road America 06 & Houston 07), you also had terrible luck in 07 with mechanical failures (even fire and wheels falling off!) and contact that wasn’t your fault (Power at Surfer’s Paradise, Clarke at San Jose, 1st lap pileup at Toronto, when you said you had a great car), and a great run going in Belgium until (as I read somewhere) one small error bent the car, yet you still held on for 11th. This is all to say that raw statistics do not do justice to your performance, and you showed genuine promise and glimpses of bigger and better things ahead, and you belong there. This is what I tell anyone who expresses skepticism of your experience or skill. That’s all very tedious and long-winded, but I wanted to make it clear that I am a fan and not some clueless w@nker just looking to wind you up. So, by now you’re wondering, do I actually have any questions? Here they are:
#1 Do you mind if people call you Kat? That’s what a lot of the fans on the forum call you, and I like the sound of it, but I won’t help spread it if you don’t care for it.
#2 I know you are looking forward rather than backward, but what surprised you most about driving Champ Cars compared to your prior experience, and is there anything you would do differently if you could do it over?
#3 Mere curiosity, but I read on a blog somewhere that you missed the drivers’ press conference in Netherlands because you were feeling ill. Is that correct? Was it just a brief, passing thing, or did it affect you during the race?
#4 At Road America 06, if I’m not mistaken just before your wing failed, you were right on your teammate’s tail in 6th place late in the race; did you have enough car to challenge Servia for 5th, and if so were you thinking about it, or were you just following him in to the finish?
#5 You seem to have an uncanny aptitude for ovals despite almost no prior experience on them. How do you like oval racing compared to twisties?
#6 I know being a IICS is a full-time job and this may be a completely crazy thought, but have you ever given any consideration to getting more oval experience on off weeks in some other open wheel divisions like midgets or sprints?I know they are radically different, but it would have to be of some instructive value. But more to the point, most Indy Car fans have a real soft spot for drivers who’ve been through the open-wheel circle track series here, so you would make a ton of instant new fans who will be loyal to the end. When I was a kid all the Indy drivers like AJ, Mario, JR, Bobby and Al raced every weekend and would often do midgets one night somewhere, sprints another night somewhere else and then Indy cars on Sunday. I know that’s impossible now, but in the old days we got so many more chances to see our heroes, and we’d sure rather see you on the track where you’re at home than cutting a ribbon to open some shopping mall.
#7 People who follow Paul Tracy are getting 150 tweets a day about every twist in his quest for a full-time seat (I don’t do twitter but PT’s tweets are immediately posted in the forums so everyone can read). I’m signing up for your mailing list, but about how often are you able to send out new news?
#8 IS THERE ANY NEWS?? We’re all on pins and needles!
I hope you will excuse my long-winded rambling and pushy questions, but when I take an interest in a subject, I can get carried away. Try to remember it’s because I’m a fan.
Anyway, best of luck and fingers crossed for you. I look forward to your reply.
Cheers,
JB

Katherine,
I’ve been a photographer at the Indy 500 for the past 38 years (longer than you’ve been alive), so you could say I’m an IndyCar fan. I was thrilled to see you’d joined the series, and I just wanted to wish you the greatest success. May you be the first woman to win the Indy 500!
January 18th, 2012 at 3:53 pm
So F-ing excited you’re back! This is awesome. I hope you and Sebass win a bunch of races and make a run at the championship. You’re older and wiser, now go and show ‘em what you can do girl! Hottie!

Hello Katherine–congratulations on entering the Indy Car Series–you really are beyond beautiful–good luck this year
January 20th, 2012 at 8:25 am
As I have stated in ‘comments’ on the IndyCar site’s story of your contract, we are thrilled to find you with a seat in the States!!! We recognized your abilities and pulled for you through the thick and thin. You deserved better from the open wheel community back then. We can’t wait for your podium finishes!!! We want more reasons for beers and shots on your behalf other than seeing you walk out of the infield care center at RoadAmerica!!!!!!!!!!! Get comfortable, gain confidence, go fast!!!!! Best of luck and Godspeed.
P.S. May your lucky man be damned!!!
